Winegrowers since 1559

Rocca Bernarda is one of the oldest wine-producing estates in the Colli Orientali region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, with a history dating back to 1559.
No other noble residence in Friuli enjoys such a stunning position, nestled in a landscape adorned with ancient cypress trees and offering a breathtaking view of the vast panorama, gracefully shaped by rolling and elegant vineyards.
The estate was built in 1567 by the Counts Valvason Maniago and is centered around a magnificent Italian garden overlooking the Friulian plain.

A one-of-a-kind terroir

The “ponca,” a typical Friulian soil composed of sand and marlstone,
forms the hills of Rocca Bernarda and imparts elegance and minerality to the wines.
This type of soil was formed in shallow lake basins, influenced by turbidity
currents that created the frequent alternation of hard and soft layers.
